Back to Life, Back to Reality!

Our Mardi Gras Costume
Well, Fat Tuesday has ended and the carnival season is over. I had a great time enjoying the festivities of New Orleans as a resident, but boy did it wear me out. I can say I am glad it is over! The entire city shuts down and is full-on into Mardi Gras. As I have said it before, there is so much spirit in this city and it was a great welcoming to be a part of it. I feel like I spent the last 3 weeks catching beads, watching parades, and wearing costumes! I believe my next goal to save money and recycle products is to figure out what to do with all the beads. Maybe costumes, musical instruments…I’m sure I’ll think of something.
During all the madness, I have been keeping myself busy with Kid’s Play. I have been actively and intensively searching for a space and meeting up with organizations with similar interests as KP. I’ve met so many great people that have offered some useful advice. On the other end, I am still searching for that perfect space. I have a few prospective spaces that could work, but I’m still holding on to finding the perfect one! However, KP will start in June if I have to teach in my front yard! We all know I am determined!
Anne and I have also been applying for funds and trying to reach our goal budget for the summer program. We are a little over half-way, but that is not all the way. We need more funds, volunteers, and connections in New Orleans. Reach out to us if you can help. It is so very important to get Kid’s Play up and running for June. We all know I do not like to be late!
PS-It has been so cold that it SNOWED in Mississippi. Check out my parent’s snowman!
