Wow! The past 15 days have been in and out of apartments, boxes, cities, and states.  Since my last day at Prince Street I have been in and out and all over.  I started with a short vacation to Las Vegas with my friends Allison and Laura.  We had a really nice 36 hour trip, well until about the 30th hour when I realized I had food poison!  Never eat raw shrimp!  I didn’t do it on purpose, that was how it was served to me.  YUK!  Other than that the trip was fun and relaxing with a few shows.  We saw Cher, whom at 60 still rocks on and LOVE, the Beattles show which was fabulous as well.

Then I got back to NYC and headed to Connecticut for the holidays.  It was a bitter sweet trip, nice to spend time with family, but knowing I would not be able to come to CT as often.  I have made a family there since my arrival to New York.  The neighborhood of Hampton Close has been so supportive of me and my goals in NYC.  All of them made living in NYC easier and me a little less home sick.

After Christmas, we headed back to the city to pack up the apartment.  Lets just say, I left Mississippi six years ago with 2 suitcases, I left NYC on Monday with a 6′ X 12′ trailer.  However it was not totally packed, there was room for a couple more boxes if needed.  We packed everything up in two hours and headed out of the city.

Our first stop  was to visit Lauren in Kentucky, a fourteen hour drive.  I have never been to Kentucky and it was exactly how I pictured it.  Rolling hills, horse stables, and bourbon!  Next, we headed to Knoxville, with Lauren in tow to celebrate New Year’s with my younger sister Jodi.

Finally, we arrived in New Orleans on January 3 after a nights stop in my home town, Meridian.  I don’t want to get into the car again!  I feel like my life is scattered amongst boxes in the storage unit and in our room.  We are staying with some friends until we find an apartment.  We looked at a few yesterday, they are all so so so BIG!  Hopefully, we will find something soon so I can feel settled and get to work on Kid’s Play.

Keep checking in and I’ll update our status and where we are at with Kids Play.  It was hard to leave NYC, but I know I am making the right move.  My dreams of starting Kid’s PLay is happening!  I am doing it and I am stubborn so it WILL be done.

Have a great week!
